A Weekend of Mystic and Metal! Plus, Joy Clark
A Monday morning hello.
Greetings from a very gloomy, rainy upstate NY. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I spent most of mine in Connecticut, and I have to say, it was quite lovely.
We started off with an overnight stay in Mystic, where of course I had to check out Mystic Pizza. It was, thankfully, delicious, though I was sad to learn that most of the interior shots from the film were done on a soundstage and not the actual restaurant. They do have the film playing on a silent loop, though, in case you want to watch Julia Roberts mouth dialogue while you eat.
We also went to the aquarium, ate lots of yummy food, went to a few cool stores, and had afternoon tea at an Alice in Wonderland-themed tea house. The best part of Mystic, IMO, was Alice’s Little Haunted Bookshop, a super cute, horror-filled bookstore. Definitely a must-see if you ever make it to the Mystic area.




From there we drove about an hour to…somewhere else in CT to see my brother-in-law’s band, Dope, open for Static-X. The show was great. GWAR a…
