L.A., Flight Delays, and My First Byline! Plus, Julie Ann Crommett

A belated Monday morning hello.

Yes, I’m aware that it’s Tuesday and I missed a Monday morning greeting. But technically, today is my Monday because American Airlines stole a day from me.

I spent last week in L.A., hanging out with family and friends, eating way too much food, and doing all the touristy things. It wasn’t as warm or sunny as I’d hoped for, but we had a great time nonetheless.

That is…until it came time to fly home.

Our 12:30pm Saturday flight out of LAX didn’t board until 1:30 and then we sat on the runway for a bit while someone fixed something on the plane and then did some kind of paperwork something or other… All I know is that we missed our connecting flight out of DFW by 20 minutes.

Fun fact! There is only one flight that goes direct from DFW to Albany and it’s an American Airlines flight that leaves at 7pm every night. Since we missed our 7pm Saturday night flight, we were bumped to the 7pm Sunday night flight. And then, due to weather issues and yet another mechanical something or other paperwo…
