VIDEO BONUS: Kim A. Snyder discusses H.R.7661
The director of "The Librarians" discusses the nationwide book ban bill.
I hope you had a chance to read my interview with award-winning filmmaker Kim A. Snyder. Her latest film, The Librarians, is an infuriating but important exploration of book bans and the school librarians whose jobs and lives are literally at risk for simply doing the job they were hired to do.
Just hours after I watched the film, which is currently streaming on PBS, I learned that a nationwide book ban bill, H.R.7661 or the “Stop the Sexualization of Children Act,” had been introduced and is now advancing in the House of Representatives.
I asked Snyder about the bill, but due to space limitations this part of our interview didn’t make it into the full written piece. I’m sharing the clip now with paid subscribers.
Please give it a watch and then check out her film.
