My conversation earlier this year with Rising Appalachia co-frontwoman Leah Song was so inspirational. It was my third interview for Creative Reverberations, and it wasn’t one I had to pursue—it came to me.

Last year I wrote a Thanksgiving Day playlist for Shondaland and included Rising Appalachia’s “Harmonize.” So when the band was close to releasing their new album, Folk & Anchor, their publicist reached out to let me know about it. I mentioned my Substack and asked for an interview, and a couple of weeks later I was on a Zoom call with Leah, chatting about music and art and creativity.
