Milestones & Announcements
A Monday hello.
This coming Friday marks a huge milestone for Creative Reverberations: the 100th interview.
ONE.
F’IN.
HUNDRED.
I can’t express how big this is for me. I vividly remember sitting in a restaurant back in the spring of 2024, telling my husband that I was thinking about launching a Substack. After I explained what Substack was, I laid out my rough vision of a publication that would focus on all things creative, with weekly interviews as the main focus. I listed off a few folks I’d reach out to for interviews—mostly friends who work in the arts—and said I hoped that it would last a few months.
And here we are, 2+ years and 99 interviews later—not to mention all the playlists and recommendations and other posts. Though I have interviewed a few friends, a majority of the chats have been with people I didn’t personally know and had only admired from afar, sometimes for decades.
Whether you’ve been reading since the first interview or are new to this publication, I cannot thank you enough for being with me on this journey as I talk to artists about what they do, why they do it, and how they find the fortitude to keep going, even when the odds are stacked against them.
To celebrate, I’m launching a few new subscriber benefits in the coming weeks.
The Reverb, a monthly roundup for paid subscribers of all the things that have been inspiring me lately
Weekly threads where you can tell others what you’ve been watching, reading, and listening to, and what’s been inspiring you
Opportunities to promote the creative work you’ve been doing (your podcast, your music, your visual art…) with other subscribers
Occasional roundups of Creative Reverberations posts and interviews you may have missed
Details will be sent to your email as these things roll out over the course of the summer.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoyed my interview with Kevin Lingenfelser on his work in TV and film.
Coming up this Friday for the 100th (OMG) interview is my recent chat with Miki Berenyi, frontwoman from the ’90s band Lush and, more recently, The Miki Berenyi Trio. I knew, having been a huge Lush fan back in the day, that I’d enjoy meeting her. I had no idea how much fun it would be to chat with her. Definitely keep an eye out for this one—it’s good.
That’s it for now! Have a wonderfully creative week!
Thanks so much for reading! If you’re enjoying this content, please share the publication with others!
